AIDOT Inc., led by CEO Jae-hoon Jeong, announced on the 14th that it has been selected for the '2023 Data-Driven Medical and Healthcare Ecosystem Creation Project' organized by

the Gangwon Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency (GICA) and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) in cooperation with Hanyang University Industry-Academia Collaboration Foundation.

This project is designed to support the development, demonstration, and commercialization of AI-based medical and health services, fostering a digital healthcare innovation

ecosystem.

AIDOT has formed a consortium with Hanyang University Hospital and was selected for this project with a business plan for the development of an 'AI-based digital otoscopy and

laryngoscopy system.' They have also signed an agreement with GICA.

AIDOT plans to develop AI-based diagnostic systems for ear, mouth, and throat conditions and digital otoscopy and laryngoscopy hardware. Their goal is to create a medical device

system that can quickly and easily diagnose ear and mouth conditions at home or provide accurate diagnoses of ear, mouth, and throat conditions for non-specialists in

otolaryngology.

According to the company, otitis media is a common condition among children and the elderly. Early diagnosis is crucial because failure to treat it promptly can lead to serious

complications. Delayed specialized diagnosis of oral and throat conditions can also lead to severe conditions such as chronic cervical infections, oral cancer, and laryngeal cancer.

A company representative stated, "In areas with limited access to medical resources, there may be limitations in timely diagnosis and treatment," adding, "We will develop a system

that allows for quick and easy diagnosis at home." They further explained that "after screening for ear and mouth conditions, we will recommend a hospital visit, contributing to public

health improvement and the activation of primary care facilities."

GICA will provide a Gangwon Province precision medical big data platform to support this project. In addition to data processing and analysis, they will also assist with medical device approvals and global expansion.

Professor Jae-ho Jeong of the Otorhinolaryngology Department at Hanyang University said, "If an AI-based clinical support system is developed through this project, it can play a

significant role even in overseas markets where it is difficult to receive specialized otolaryngology care," and expressed his commitment to promoting the global distribution of domestic AI medical systems.

An AIDOT representative stated, "We will develop products that reflect the requirements of the medical environment, making it possible to commercialize them domestically and

internationally and develop products that are clinically effective," emphasizing that "the development of home-use medical devices will create opportunities for AI medical

devices to be effectively used in everyday life."
