On 30th of January, AIDOT, an artificial intelligence medical device company announced that it has succeeded in entering the Japanese market with ‘GIGA dot AI,’ an AI-based 

gastroscopy solution jointly developed with Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital.

AIDOT's Japanese partner explained that doctors chose GIGA dot AI as it is more optimized than any AI gastroscopy solution developed in Japan for assisted diagnosis with the help 

of artificial intelligence during gastroscopy. .

Currently, GIGA dot AI has received approval for a clinical trial plan from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Korea, and clinical trials are underway led by Professor Chang-seok 

Bang of the Department of Gastroenterology at Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital, a joint research institute.

GIGA dot AI classifies images during gastroscopy into six moderate categories: Non-neoplasm, LGD, HGD, EGC(M), EGC(SM), and AGC, and AI detects the location of suspected lesions in real time with sound. It will notify you by displaying a detection box.

As a result of self-clinical performance verification, the total sensitivity and specificity reflecting the sensitivity and specificity by severity were 91.48% and 92.13%.

An AIDOT official said, “We have completed negotiations on additional contracts to continuously supply solutions to the Japanese market, and based on references to entering the 

Japanese market, we are planning to enter additionally through close discussions with European and Indian partners. At the same time, we will continue to advance so that we can 

have global competitiveness.”
